About DeFacto

DeFacto is a Turkish clothing retailer and one of the biggest apparel chains to come out of Turkey. It sells men's, women's and children's clothing at high street prices, with denim and basics doing most of the volume. The company operates stores across Turkey, the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe and Central Asia.

The Egypt operation runs both physical stores and an Arabic and English website that ships across the country. Prices are set in Egyptian pounds and the range is adapted to local demand, so the Egyptian catalogue is not identical to the Turkish one.

Turkish manufacturing is the reason the pricing works. DeFacto produces at scale close to home, and the cotton basics in particular tend to hold up better than the price suggests. Jeans, T-shirts, shirting and outerwear are the categories to look at.

The Egyptian site discounts aggressively and runs a permanent outlet section. Unlike a lot of fashion retailers, the current DeFacto code applies sitewide for new and existing customers, so you do not need to work around a full-price-only restriction.

Payment and delivery are built for the Egyptian market. Cash on delivery is available alongside card payment, which still matters to a large share of shoppers, and the store delivers to Cairo, Alexandria and the governorates. Returns run through the standard window, and orders can usually go back to a physical DeFacto branch rather than through a courier, which is faster if a store is near you.

Tips to save more

• The code works for existing customers too, which is rare. Most fashion retailers reserve their best code for first orders. This one does not, so there is no reason to make a new account.

• Buy denim in person if you can, or order two sizes. DeFacto jeans run differently across fits, and the return trip costs you time even when it is free.

• Watch the seasonal changeover in March and September. That is when the previous season gets marked down hardest, and the code still applies on top.

• Check the kids section for basics. School uniform staples like plain polos and trousers are priced well below the branded equivalents and wear about as well.

• Sign up before you order. DeFacto emails members ahead of public sales in Egypt, and pairing an early sale price with the code is where the real saving sits.

• Return to a branch, not a courier, when you can. In-store returns clear the refund faster than a pickup, and you can swap the size on the spot instead of reordering at a price the code may no longer cover.

• Buy outerwear out of season. Coats and jackets get cut hardest in February and March in Egypt, and the code still applies to them.
