About Option B

Option B is a Saudi fragrance retailer based in Riyadh. It sells perfumes, oud and fragrance oils across the Gulf, and sits in the fast-growing group of Saudi fragrance brands that have taken share from the international houses over the past few years.

Saudi Arabia is one of the highest per-capita fragrance markets in the world, and the category works differently there. Layering is normal, oud oils are worn alongside sprays, and a household will keep bakhoor and room scent going alongside personal fragrance. That is the market these brands are built for.

Buying fragrance online has an obvious problem, which is that you cannot smell it. Note pyramids on a product page tell you the ingredients rather than how it wears. The practical answer is to buy a small size first on anything unfamiliar and only commit to a full bottle once you have lived with it for a week.

Concentration matters more than brand name on price. An eau de toilette at 8 percent oil and an extrait at 25 percent are different products even under the same name, and the cheaper one is not usually the better value per hour worn.

The current Option B code gives 10 percent off with a cap of 10 SAR, and it applies across the GCC.

Tips to save more

• The cap is 10 SAR, so use it on a small order. Ten percent capped at 10 riyals pays out fully at a 100 SAR basket. Beyond that the code adds nothing, which makes it a good fit for a single bottle rather than a gift haul.

• Split a large order into smaller ones if the code allows repeat use. Two 100 SAR orders collect more than one 500 SAR order does.

• Buy the small size first on anything you have not smelled. Fragrance is the one category where the product description genuinely cannot tell you whether you will like it.

• Oil lasts longer than spray at the same price. If longevity is what you are paying for, concentrated oil outperforms an eau de parfum on skin by hours.

• Do not judge a scent in the first ten minutes. The opening notes burn off fast. What matters is the base after two hours, and that is what you will actually smell like.

• Keep bottles out of the bathroom and out of the car. Heat and light break down fragrance, and Gulf temperatures do it faster than anywhere.
