About Under Armour

Kevin Plank started Under Armour in 1996 in his grandmother's basement in Washington DC, after getting tired of soaked cotton T-shirts under his football pads at the University of Maryland. The first product was a compression shirt built from synthetic fabric that pulled sweat away from the skin. The company is now headquartered in Baltimore and sells worldwide.

Compression and training gear is still the core. HeatGear is the hot-weather line, ColdGear the cold-weather one, and the two names cover most of what the brand sells in apparel. Running shoes, gym shoes and the UA Rush and Iso-Chill fabric lines fill out the range.

In the Gulf, HeatGear is the line that actually matters. Training outdoors in Dubai or Riyadh from May to September is a different problem to training in Baltimore, and the fabrics designed for heat and sweat management earn their price here in a way the winter range never will.

The current Under Armour code covers the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It is a flat 10 percent starting from a 100 dirham basket, capped at 200 dirhams of discount, so the maths matters on both ends of your order.

Footwear is worth treating separately from apparel. Under Armour's running shoes have improved a lot since the HOVR and Flow platforms arrived, but the fit runs narrower than Nike or New Balance in the same nominal size. If you have wide feet, order half a size up or buy in a store first and use the code online for the repeat pair.

How to use a coupon

1. Copy the Under Armour code from this page and check the country tag. It covers the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

2. Click through using our link, which is what keeps the code valid at checkout.

3. Build a basket of at least AED 100. Below that the code will not apply.

4. Enter the code in the promo field at checkout.

5. Check the discount line. Ten percent applies up to a maximum of AED 200 off.

Tips to save more

• The cap bites at AED 2,000. Ten percent capped at 200 dirhams means anything above a 2,000 dirham basket gets no extra benefit. If you are kitting out for a season, split the order in two.

• Get over the AED 100 floor before you apply it. A single T-shirt may not clear the minimum. Add socks or a second item rather than losing the discount entirely.

• Buy HeatGear, skip ColdGear. In the Gulf the cold weather line is close to useless outside a gym with aggressive air conditioning, and it is usually the stock that gets discounted for exactly that reason.

• Size compression gear honestly. Compression fits tight by design, and buying up a size to feel comfortable defeats the point of the fabric.

• Outlet stock combined with the code is the cheapest way in. Under Armour runs a permanent outlet section regionally, and the code has not been restricted to full price.

• Stock up on socks and base layers when you are near the cap. If your basket sits at AED 1,700 and the cap is 200, the last 300 dirhams of that order are effectively discounted at 10 percent too. Past 2,000 they are not.

• Check the fabric name, not the marketing. Iso-Chill and HeatGear do different jobs. Iso-Chill disperses body heat on contact and is the better choice for outdoor summer training in the Gulf.
